Saad raja revealed the news of Uber which Launches Air Taxi Project
From road to air transport in the space, it is Uber’s dream, which is moving towards concretization.
The company announced at the Web Summit in Lisbon an agreement with NASA for the development of vehicle prototypes to be tested as early as 2020 in two North American cities: Dallas and Los Angeles.
Jeff Holden, Uber’s vice president explains:
“We are looking at the skies because this is intrinsic to our urban mobility mission. We want to break the transport code for people and things in the cities, and we know that there is a tendency for people to move in the cities and that the transportation problems we have now will worsen. We need breakthrough innovations to really solve this problem. ”
The first vehicle of UberAir will be piloted, but the goal is that they will be autonomous, in the same line as already happens with automobiles.
“I think the idea of the flying car, which we have in analogy with the Blade Runner, is not necessarily completely useful in urban aerial mobility. I think this is a new transport system; it’s an evolution of the helicopter as we know it. It’s a better helicopter, “says the director general of Urban Air Mobility Airbus.
It will be an electric helicopter, greener than the current ones. Dallas and Los Angeles will test the first urban air transport services. UberAir wants to have services fully operational before the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028.
In addition to Uber, innovative projects have not lacked in this year’s edition of Web Summit a space for starlets from around the world to exchange experiences, present innovative projects and try to seduce investors.
